Orioles Vs Yankees: April 9th Lineups, How to Watch

The Baltimore Orioles will finish their series against the Yankees at 1:35 PM EST Sunday

The Orioles will look to sweep the Yankees after winning their previous two games by one point each. The lineup is the most creative one yet used by Manager Buck Showalter, featuring Gentry leading off and Mancini back in a DH role. Showalter promised to get Joseph and Gentry in for some work today as they both find themselves batting first and ninth respectively.

Starting Lineup:

1. LF Craig Gentry

2. CF Adam Jones

3. 3B Manny Machado (14/43 against Sabathia for a .326 average)

4. RF Mark Trumbo

5. 1B Chris Davis (Only 7 for 37 against Sabathia)

6. DH Trey Mancini

7. 2B Jonathon Schoop

8. SS J.J. Hardy

9. C Caleb Joseph

Starting Pitcher: Wade Miley (2-5 Record with Os in 2016, 6.17 ERA)

Miley looks to make his season debut Sunday. Miley finished strong down the stretch last year after the Orioles made a trade to acquire the lefty. Miley remains the only lefty in the rotation, it would be nice to see him be able to get in groove and hold down his spot. The Yankees hit .267/.344/.356 against Miley but surprisingly only 1 HR in a total 135 ABs against him.

Starting Lineup:

1. LF Brett Gardner

2. CF Aaron Hicks

3. DH Matt Holliday

4. 1B Chris Carter

5. 2B Starlin Castro (3/21 against Miley for a .143 avg)

6. 3B Chase Headley (9/31 for a .290 avg against Miley)

7. RF Aaron Judge

8. C Austin Romine

9. SS Ronald Torreyes

Starting Pitcher: CC Sabathia (9-12 record in 2016, 3.91 ERA)

Sabathia owns a .273/.307/.446 slash against this Orioles roster through a hefty 289 at bats. There are plenty of successful hitters in today’s lineup against Sabathia including Machado, Hardy, and Jones. That said, Sabathia holds the Yankees only win this season and looked just fine in his five shut-out innings. It could be a good one at Camden today as Sabathia is the only man between the Orioles and their three-game sweep.
